The Weald Lawn Tennis & Squash Racquets Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its adult and junior* Members, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for all. The Club believes that it is important that Members, Coaches, staff, volunteers and parents associated with the Club should at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, Members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the Club with the Club Chairman, Tennis Chairman or Squash Chairman.
As a member of The Weald Lawn Tennis & Squash Racquets Club you are expected to abide by the following code of practice:
- All Members must take responsibility for ensuring they are up to date with the Club Policies and Rules, understand them and adhere to them. The Policies and Rules are available on the Club website, under the Membership tab.
- All Members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of other Members, Coaches, staff, volunteers, parents and visitors to the Club regardless of age, gender, ability, race, cultural or socio-economic background, religious beliefs or sexual identity. Bullying, discrimination and harassment will not be tolerated.
- All Members should be a positive role model, treat other Members, Coaches, officials, staff, guests and visitors with the same level of respect that they would expect to be shown to themselves. Members are expected to use appropriate language at all times, including any interaction on social media related to the Club.
- All Members should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions and inform their coach or team manager if they are going to be late.
- All Members must wear suitable sporting attire, including appropriate footwear, whilst using the Club courts.
- Fees for training sessions or events must be paid promptly.
- Junior Members are not allowed to smoke or consume alcohol on the Club premises or whilst representing the Club at competitions.
- Adults who wish to smoke (including e-cigarettes) must use the designated smoking area in the main car park. Adults may only consume alcohol on the Club premises which has been purchased from the Club bar.
- The use of recreational drugs on Club premises is strictly prohibited.
- Members must show respect to our neighbours at all times. When leaving the Club premises, especially in the evenings, noise must be kept to a minimum.
- The speed limit of 10mph along South Bank and Hassocks Close must be adhered to all times.
- This Code of Conduct applies whenever Members are representing the Club whether this is on or off Club premises, eg at away fixtures.
